• This connector is much less suitable for new generation cables with foil and foam dielectric as: Ecoflex 10, Ultraflex 10, Aircom Plus, H2000 Flex, H1000, LMR400, RF400, Heatex 10, MMR400...
• Beware of cheap PL259! The central insulation of the connector is often of imitation PTFE. The direct result is that the centre pin of the connector is bent by the heat of the soldering iron, especially as the body has to be very hot to solder the braid! Also the connector and the coax lose their initial characteristics. This problem is exacerbated when a linear amplifier is used.
