Greases supplied

2 kinds of grease are supplied with your antenna:

Aluminum contact grease: Professional grease containing 30% aluminum particles, recommended for the assembly of aluminum antenna tubes. Prevents binding, corrosion and the formation of aluminum oxide, and allows easy dismantling of antennas after several years.

Copper conductive grease: Professional conductive grease with a copper base, recommended for all hardware requiring a sound and lasting electrical contact. Prevents oxydisation, damp ingress, and limits chemical reaction between stainless steel and aluminum.

Balun or no Balun ?

• The purpose of a balun is to transmit the same current to both elements of a dipole (to obtain a symetric radiation pattern) and to avoid having current on the braid of a coaxial cable (or anywhere else). The omission of a balun can be the cause of stray current on the braid (often the cause of RF and/or TVI/BCI), and distortion of the radiation pattern.

• You can obtain a 20% discount on the cost of a DX Avenue balun and its support when purchased at the same time as your DXBeam antenna. The balun will be pre-mounted with the appropriate connecting cables.

1:1 DX AVENUE baluns have been tested on several models of DXBeam antennas and the results are excellent.

• If you have the time for testing and measuring, you can also make your own 1:1 choke balun (See our F.A.Q).
